FreeSHIM version 0.1.1 has been released! It is an update to the 0.1.0 release, with a few new drivers “in progress”, as well as the addition of an Ubuntu PPA and a “free only” packaging for Debian/Ubuntu.
FreeSHIM version 0.1.0 was just released! It is the first released working version of FreeSHIM, our medical device interface layer. It allows multiple medically-related peripheral devices to be exposed to an EMR/PM system simply by installing FreeSHIM on each workstation with connected devices and configuring a single configuration file!
Currently we support a limited number of label printers, dosing pumps, signature tablets and other devices which can be expanded upon by creating new drivers. Development code is licensed under the GPL and based on the J2EE stack. Downloads are available by following the “download” link on the FreeSHIM.org site.
Welcome to “freeshim.org”. We are proud to announce the upcoming release of FreeSHIM 0.1!
FreeSHIM is an opensource electronic medical device interface, which aims to allow any EMR/PM system to talk to any medical device attached to a workstation without having to install tons of pesky drivers or “reinvent the wheel” for each additional device manufacturer.
